ista ng Kapuluan is a biennale of exhibitions, performances, and a marketplace, co-created by 700 youth and indigenous leaders to regenerate dwindling cultural practices and ecological knowledge. It advanced frameworks for sustainable development and climate education. Community-built installations from bamboo and deadstock fabric were produced after two years of fieldwork, encompassing workshops in art, photography, tapestry, and counter-mapping. The centerpiece was an 88-yard tapestry embroidered by 700 youth. Housed at the Children’s Museum of Manila, the festival drew over 8,000 attendees and created a youth network nationwide.
